My connection to Cornwall runs deep.

As many of you know, I live and work in the breathtaking landscapes of Cornwall. This place constantly fuels my visual art and choreographic endeavors. My connection to Cornwall runs deep, rooted in childhood experiences on the Isles of Scilly, a picturesque archipelago, located about twenty miles southwest of Land’s End. We spent our family holidays there, visiting distant relatives. These trips introduced me to one of the UK’s most idyllic locations -a paradise that felt like a safe haven, where my imagination could flourish.

Growing up, I cherished those annual trips to the Isles of Scilly and developed a deep love for the islands. I often dreamed of living there for a year, painting and immersing myself in its unspoiled wildness and beauty. Although I haven’t realized that dream yet, my life in Cornwall brings me as close as possible to that vision.

I first moved to Cornwall in the 1990s. However, life took me back up north for a while before I returned to this enchanting county in 2013. Since then, I’ve fully embraced everything Cornwall offers. My days overflow with inspiration. I lecture at Falmouth University, choreograph site-specific dance works, and engage in community creative projects. I create paintings that reflect the stunning coastline and lush woodlands, capturing the essence of this remarkable place.

This magical region is steeped in myth and history.

This magical region is steeped in myth and history, and its unique, silvery light transforms the landscape, invigorating the creative spirit. Over the centuries, art groups have flourished in the western part of the county, making it a vibrant artistic hub with international recognition.

The theatrical scene here is equally dynamic. Companies craft and stage performances in some of the most dramatic locations imaginable. If you visit Cornwall during the summer months, don’t miss the chance to experience outdoor theatre productions.
