A STREAM RUNS THROUGH THE WOOD

In the heart of Cornwall, where our plentiful rainfall means that water weaves a dance through the land with streams and brooks winding their way through the temperate rainforests. A Stream Runs Through the Wood, seeks to encapsulate this enchanting interplay of light and shade that defines our verdant forests. A place where the air is thick with the scent of earth and foliage, where sunlight filters through a dense canopy, casting fragmented rays upon the surface of a gently babbling brooks.

This painting is more than a representation; as here I have sought to portray the delicate balance between the damp, shadowed recesses of the forest and the glistening highlights that punctuate the landscape.

In A Stream Runs Through the Wood, my aim is to capture a space where time seems suspended, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary. It is a reflection of how, in woodland, you can feel both protected and exhilarated, immersed in the timeless magic of the natural world.
