Moving into Painting is an online course in which I share with you one of my approaches to sketching and how these sketches, on occasion, are developed into finished pieces of work (as was the case with my Autumn Lane collection).
The focus of this approach is not trying to sketch an accurate drawing of a place but capturing how that place makes you feel, it is about capturing your response to it and as such, I find this approach very freeing, and it helps me to access a deeper personal expression in the way I sketch.

The course runs as a series of videos. First, you will be provided with a list of the materials and equipment you will need, then you will be led through the process of preparing your paper, practicing mark-making, connecting with your chosen location and how you can develop your work on return from your location. Because the course is pre-recorded you can dip into it repeatedly.
