WILLOW WARBLER LINO PRINT

Willow Warbler Lino print

This lino print depicts the willow warbler within mixed woodland and scrub—its chosen habitat. Though small and delicate, each year, it undertakes a remarkable migration of some 7,000 kilometres from sub-Saharan Africa to the UK, where it resides between April and September. Sadly, this species has undergone a significant decline, with numbers falling by 44% since 1970. Historically known as the willow wren, its soft, descending song, often described as a “melodious cascade,” is a defining presence in spring landscapes.
